Mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, Zika, and chikungunya are major public health concerns, which are mainly controlled by using insecticides against the vectors; unfortunately, continued use has led to widespread insecticide resistance. Aedes albopictus has been reported in 21 Mexican states; however, we lack information about resistance status in this vector. Bioassays in mosquitoes revealed moderate resistance to pyrethroids and high resistance to temephos. Additionally, polymorphisms in the voltage-gated sodium channel were analyzed.
